Our commitments
For several years we had been thinking about the Economy of Functionality and Cooperation (EFC) and had carried out our carbon assessment. Taking part in the CEC in 2024 enabled us to accelerate the implementation of a new strategy for Athanor.
We were first struck by the current state of the planet and its limits. We then met many companies wishing to act in the same direction as us. Our collective work over two years allowed us to rethink our economic model, moving from an organisation focused on performance to a model guided by robustness.
We are convinced that this transformation can only be achieved through new forms of cooperation, and that the company is an ideal place to accelerate this societal transformation.
Taking part in the Business Climate Convention (CEC)
Our two directors, Yannick and Djamel, took part in the 2024 programme of the Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat. The question the CEC raises is: How can a company continue to exist in harmony with the living world? That is, considering and respecting the life that surrounds us, helping it regenerate to reverse the environmental and climate trend, while still thriving as a business.
With the CEC’s help, Yannick and Djamel have drawn up a roadmap with ambitious objectives to change Athanor’s course.
This roadmap was presented to the team, and working groups have emerged to put in place the actions that stem from it.
Our concrete actions

1. Carrying out our company’s full annual carbon assessment:
- Scope 1: direct GHG emissions,
- Scope 2: indirect emissions linked to energy that do not occur directly on the company site,
- Scope 3: indirect emissions outside the company’s control

2. Energy audit of the company:
Installation of solar panels, indicator monitoring, review of our heating and compressed-air methods…

3. Communicating with our end clients to raise their awareness and support them towards more sustainable projects:
- Providing the carbon assessment of the stove in operation together with the quote.
- Adapting stove design advice to the energy mix of the country where it will be installed.

4. Experimenting with the Economy of Functionality and Cooperation (EFC) using reconditioned stoves:
Setting up a sensor and data-feedback system to reduce our clients’ costs and energy consumption according to their actual use.

5. Developing the electric Coup de Feu plate:
This new element delivers the specific operation and performance of a gas Coup de Feu plate, with the energy efficiency of electric power.

1. Continuing to research and develop new heating systems using low-carbon energy.

2. Developing the second-life market with a trade-in and reconditioning programme for old stoves.
